How To Unlock Self Cleaning Oven Lock
As a safety precaution virtually all self cleaning ovens have a door locking mechanism that automatically secures the door whenever the cleaning function is activated.

It is important to note that you must wait for the oven to cool after running the self cleaning function. Wait approximately 30 minutes for the oven to cool and try to unlock the door.
The method to unlock the oven door depends on whether the oven door has been locked in a closed or open position. This cleaning process could take anywhere from three to five hours depending upon the cleaning time you selected prior to activating clean mode. If it was interrupted in the middle of a self cleaning cycle or if the child lock was accidentally engaged there are a few steps you can take to unlock the oven. Let it go for 30 seconds and then cancel the self cleaning cycle. Test the door lock lever again. Test the cleaning setting. Self cleaning ovens don t unlock as soon as the cleaning cycle ends.
If the door is locked open hold the light switch. A malfunctioning self cleaning oven that refuses to unlock may reset if you turn off the electrical breaker that supplies it power wait 5 or 10 minutes then turn it on again. On self cleaning oven models such as the profile the oven door lock engages so the door cannot be opened during the cleaning process. Or if the lock icon is showing when the oven door is actually opening and closing you can try to clear the icon.
If your oven is still locked after running a cleaning cycle you may just need to wait longer. This type of oven door locking system uses a spring that is coiled. When this happens your oven will not clean anymore until you have restored the lock. Try the following to unlock the door.
In some instances this will clear the lock mechanism and allow the door to open. The oven door can become locked before and after the cleaning cycle. The door will not unlock until the oven has cooled to room. The oven will stay locked until its internal temperature drops to about 200 degrees fahrenheit.
On this type of oven the motor will lock the oven door automatically when the oven is in the self clean mode.
