How to straighten a warped door frame. If the warping has shortened the door you will need to use large pieces of lumber. Only remove enough for the door to fit comfortably in the frame. Extremely warped door frames should be replaced but you can fix mild warping with common hardware supplies. Use the putty knife to loosen molding or trim strips around the frame of the door.

The door can now only be closed with greater force.
Sanding is the next step if you ve weighted the door and allowed it to cure for as long as possible and the door remains warped.
